BLOOD DONATION DRIVE

Most blood donors nowadays in the industrialized world are unpaid volunteers who give blood to a community supply. When family or friends need a transfusion, donors typically give blood because established sources are scarce in some regions (directed donation). Many people give blood for a variety of reasons, such as a form of philanthropy, to spread awareness of the need for blood, to boost their self-esteem, or to assist a close friend or relative.

On September 17, 2022, at the PIMR UG Campus in Indore, the PIMR Institute organised a BLOOD DONATION drive in collaboration with the Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad under the direction of our esteemed faculty member CS. Amandeep Chugga. Around more than 100+ students were participated during an event and contributed to the welfare of the society.

Each time someone donates blood, it makes a bigger difference they realize. Blood donations are regularly needed by cancer patients, organ transplant
recipients, and accident victims. Teaching students about the importance of blood donation at an early stage will help save many lives in future. The event started 10 o’clock in the morning and large number of students participated in the drive. Teachers also participated to motivate the students and to support the drive. All the participants in the blood donation camp were given certificates. To watch over the entire process and to collect the blood, a team of 4 doctors were put in charge. The college had also arranged for a resting room for anyone who felt dizzy or sick after donating blood. Volunteers from the Student’s Media Club sang songs to cheer up the people donating blood.

Our students earned certifications and brought honour to the institute.
