	Professional education and training is one of the most significant components of Human Resource Development with great potencial for making contributions to the National economy and improveing the quality of life of the people. In recognition of this fact, the successive Five-Year Plans and the National Policy on Education have placed great emphasis on the introduction of professional education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.


Expansion of professional education in the post- independence era is unprecedented in the education history of the country. With the Globalization of our economy and policy of liberalization, the demand for professionally competent human resources will continuously increase. The solution lies in providing facilities for professional education, research and training which alone can develop competent generations suitable for business, industry and public administration. Prestige Institute of Management and Research is conceived as a unique growth oriented Institution of professional education and training. The institute had in its genesis the solemn objective to catering of the education and training needs of the students, non-resident Indians, foreigners residing in India, defence personnel and executives from industry and government. The uniqueness of the Instiute lies in its provision for elaborate spectrum of professional program under one roof, on the job training, semester university examination, emphasis on qualitative education / training and building of cultural values and developement of dynamic personality. The Institute had made a beginning by introducing MBA (Full Time) and MBA (Part Time) programs, and BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration)an undergraduate program in managemenrt discipline in the very first year. Under the ambitions plan to increase the number of program to cover the diverse areas of professional education, the Institute has also started program like MBA (International Business), MBA (Advetising and Public Relations), MBA (Marketing Management), MBA (Personnel Administration), MBA (Financial Administration), MBA (Foreign Trade) - Integrated and BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications). Beside this, the Institute is also a recognized research centre for Ph.D. program. Thus, it aims at becoming one of the best self-financed education and training centres in the country. The Institute is working on the principle of self-financing, while philanthropic industrialist and chairman of the Prestige Group ofIndustries, Shri N. N. Jain had provided the necessary initial financial support. The Institute's MBA (FT) programme, is accredited by AICTE. The Institute has the distinction of having been accorded permanent A affiliation by Devi Ahilya University. As such, it is a fully recognized institution with Devi Ahilya University awarding all the degrees offered by the Institute. Further, it has wide supportfrom industrial and business units for inplant training and placement.
